Duncan Forrester
Retiring in 2001, Duncan Forrester was Principal of Edinburgh University’s Faculty of Divinity. He has degrees from St AndrewsUniversity, EdinburghUniversity, The School of Social Thought at the University of Chicago and the University of Sussex. He was also Presbyter of the Church of South India for 8 years.
His scholarship has brought him international recognition. He is the author or editor of fourteen books, and scores of learned articles and contributed chapters, reflecting a wide-range of research interests. His books include Caste and Christianity (1980), Christianity and the Future of Welfare (1985), Beliefs, Values and Politics: Conviction Politics in a Secular Age (1989), Studies in the History of Worship in Scotland (with Douglas Murray) (1983, 2nd edn. 1996), Christian Justice and Public Policy (1997), and On Human Worth: A Christian Vindication of Equality (2001).
